I then pursued a MSc. from the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, in Wildlife Ecology. While conducting research, I worked on a project studying Bighorn Sheep, which nurtured my interests in conservation and sustainability.
I then took a different career path to delve into my educational and athletic interests, and administered and directed the High Performance Athlete Programs for Field Hockey BC for seven years. I designed and administered large scale public athlete programs throughout BC, coached high performance athletes, implemented sport science curriculum, and trained coaches and managers.

Teaching Credo
Teaching Compass: Teach with Ease (E’s): Engage, excite, educate, evaluate and exist with empathy in an evolving, explorative, energetic, experience-based environment.
Effective teachers purposefully develop and nurture a positive, safe and respectful environment for their learners. Over time within this open and accepting space, learners will experience an ease in sharing, thinking about and communicating their ideas. The teacher then has a responsibility to guide the learners through an adaptable, innovative process of learning which strengthens belief in self, connectedness with each other and the community.
In order to achieve this type of classroom and learning environment., I focus on:
Communication: Open and Respectful
Behaviour: Respect, discipline, value of each other’s time
Learning: Playful, Thoughtful, Confidence, Retention
Curriculum: Varied and Explorative
Environment and Community: Safe, Connected and Collaborative
Professional Development: Consistent and Modelled
