Professional Development Program
In December 2012, I completed the teacher education program at Simon Fraser University. I was part of SEEDs, a K-12 module centered around experiential learning, environmental education, place-based curriculum and alternative pedagogies that engage, excite and challenge learners. SEEDs stands for Sustainability Education in an Environment of Diversity.






Teaching Experience
I am an engaging, imaginative science teacher, with a multidisciplinary approach and an interest in environmental, outdoor and aboriginal education, ignited through my Masters of Science research. I have three teachable areas: Science, Social Studies and PE. In the science classroom, I use innovative formative assessment strategies, inquiry strategies, and problem based learning, focusing on the needs of a wide range of student learning styles.
During my two teaching practicums in the Burnaby School District, I taught Science 8, Scence 9 and Biology 11. For student exemplars and assessment go to

Youth Leadership Experience
I am a certified Level III NCCP coach with hundreds of hours of high performance coaching experience, including but not limited to regional, provincial and national championship tournaments, international series and tours, as well as domestic high school and club teams. I have a keen interest in sport and healthy living, and like to incorporate this into my teaching practice and volunteer work.
- Volunteered and developed Indigenous Lesson plans for the Haida Nation: Kaay Llnagaay Centre.
- Planned and implemented week-long Community Junior Leaders Camp and a week-long Outdoor Science Camp (6-10 year olds).
